1. Login to your hosting cPanel and find the Softaculous section.
In Softaculous Apps Installer click on AbanteCart icon. If you can not see icon, access the Softaculous dashboard, use the search bar positioned on the left-hand side in order to locate the AbanteCart.
2. Click Install Now.
In AbanteCart details page click on Install Now button.
We don’t remommend you to use the Quick Install option as it doesn’t allow you to set the backup and the database prefix. |
3. Fill in all required fields.
Specify the configuration details required for the installation.
A. Enter the desired folder name if you want to install the cart under folder.
B. Admin Folder: Enter the desired folder name you want to use to access the admin section. e.g. https://abc.com/index.php?s=admin123. admin123 is the admin folder.
C. Admin Username: Enter the desired username.
D. Admin Password: Enter the desired password.
E. Click this icon to generate a strong admin password.
F. Email: Enter the desired admin email address.
G. Database Name: Enter the desired database name.
Notes for H: We recommend you to use ac_ as the prefix. |
H. Table Prefix: Enter the desired table prefix.
I. Backup Location: Select the desired backup location.
Notes for J: We recommend you to set Daily as the backup period. |
J. Automated Backups: Select the desired backup period. Softaculous will take automated backups via CRON as per the frequency you select.
K. Backup Rotation: Select the desired backup rotation. e.g. 4. Softaculous will make 4 backups per period that you have selected in Automated Backups field. If the backup rotation limit is reached Softaculous will delete the oldest backup for this installation and create a new backup. The backups will utilize your space so choose the backup rotation as per the space available on your server.
L. Click the Install button to install AbanteCart using the settings that you have set.
4. Installation Succeed.
A. This is the storefront URL.
B. This is the admin URL.
5. Final Step.
Notes: In Order to enable the SEO URL in your settings pages, you are required to amend the .htaccess.txt file. And the the leading .(period) must remain.
You need to rename the htaccess.txt file to .htaccess on your server. This can be done in your hosting file manager or via FTP/SFTP. Refer to the following video for how to edit the htaccess file:
