| Important Note: – Starting from AbanteCart v1.4.0, the Bootstrap 5 template is included as part of the core system. You will be prompted to uninstall and delete the Bootstrap 5 template when you open the Admin > Extensions > All Extensions listing page. – If you no longer wish to use the “default” template from AbanteCart v1.3.4 after upgrading to v1.4.0, ensure that you migrate your existing v1.3.4 default HTML Blocks content to be compatible with Bootstrap 5 before upgrading. – You can use the provided Bootstrap 5 HTML Blocks content as references for your migration, as there are differences between the “default” template and Bootstrap 5 HTML code and CSS class. The AbanteCart v1.3.4 default template is using Bootstrap 3. Additionally, you may customize the content of the Bootstrap 5 HTML Blocks content as needed to suit your requirements. Refer to the tutorial here to learn more about Bootstrap 5. – Make a backup of your current site. |
Update Bootstrap 5 HTML Block Content:
1. Click Design.
2. Click Blocks.
3. Type BS5 in the field and press enter to filter the block name.
4. Click the edit button to edit the HTML block content.
5. Custom Block Name: Rename the block name to the desired one.

6. Custom Block content: Edit the content within the ‘<p class="small lh-lg"></p>’ if you want to use the existing presentation.
7. Click the save button to save the changes.
8. Once you are done migrating your HTML blocks, upgrade the Cart version to v1.4.0.
Now it’s time to assign the migrated BS5 HTML Block to the layout
9. Click Design.
10. Click Layouts.
11. Click the delete icon to delete the assigned HTML block.
12. Sroll up the page and click the save button.
13. Click the plus button to open up the HTML block selection and assign to the section.
14. Select and click the HTML block that you want to use.
15. Click the power icon to enable the block.
16. Finally scroll up the page and click the save button.
